Awe-inspiring scenery, iconic sights, thrilling adventures and vibrant cities … you’ll discover it all in North America.
With awesome cities, redwood forests and sun-kissed beaches, California is completely captivating.
With brilliant beaches, the glitz and glamour of Hollywood and wild national parks, the Golden State of California stretches along the USA’s west coast, offering year-round sunshine.
California offers more than 420 beaches where visitors can soak up the sun, surf, swim and spot incredible sunsets, but there is so much more to be discovered in this amazing state.
Visit the city of Los Angeles which is steeped in movie magic. The Hollywood sign dominates the Hollywood Hills, while silver-screen icons are immortalised along the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It would be a “Big Mistake. Huge!” if you missed the opportunity to visit the designer stores and boutiques on Rodeo Drive, made famous by the 1990 movie ‘Pretty Woman’.
Head to San Francisco where you can take a walk across the iconic Golden Gate Bridge or tour the infamous island prison of Alcatraz (known as The Rock) and see the former cell houses of notorious convicts such as Al Capone. Alternatively, head to Pier 39 and watch the hundreds of sea lions gleefully shove one another off the docks. It is a joy to watch!
The city of San Diego is also a must-see. Its Balboa Park is a lush oasis filled with family-friendly activities including museums, a theatre and the amazing San Diego Zoo. San Diego is also home to the USS Midway Museum, consisting of an aircraft carrier and an extensive collection of aircraft and flight simulators.
As well as its amazing cities, California offers some of the world’s most captivating natural wonders. Its nine National Parks play host to rugged mountains, lakes, lush forests, and snowy peaks. Its crowning glory has to be Yosemite National Park where you will experience vast valleys, wonderful waterfalls, ancient redwood trees, as well as wild bears and bobcats.
The Pacific Coast Highway which runs along the coast between San Francisco and San Diego makes for one of the most spectacular road trips in the USA. Stop at the Monterey Bay Aquarium where you can see sharks, seals, penguins and other marine life. Continue along the coast to Big Sur where you’ll have lots of opportunities to capture photographs of the wild coastline. Remember to stop off at Santa Barbara and enjoy sampling the wine at its many wineries.

We love NYC! And why wouldn’t we?
With its world-famous skyline, New York City (NYC) is split into five distinct boroughs – Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island and The Bronx – each with its own unique vibe.
Grab your camera or smartphone and jump in an iconic yellow cab to explore unmissable attractions, such as Times Square, the Empire State Building, the Guggenheim, the American Museum of Natural History and the Statue of Liberty.
NYC is one of the world’s ultimate shopping destinations. Whether it’s looking through the rails of the designer stores on Fifth Avenue and in the gigantic department stores like Macy’s and Bloomingdales, or searching out bargains in boutiques, you will be able to shop until you drop.
Often referred to as a “concrete jungle”, you’ll be amazed at the range of outdoor activities that NYC has to offer. Take a stroll through Central Park, go kayaking on the Hudson River, relax in Brooklyn’s beautiful botanic gardens or enjoy the fun, sand and sea at Coney Island Beach.
The city is a foodie’s paradise, with thousands of stylish and quirky restaurants serving up dishes from across the globe, but don’t forget to leave some room for a slice of that famous New York cheesecake or a hotdog from a street vendor.
NYC is known as “The City that Never Sleeps” thanks to its abundance of nightlife. It has everything from dance clubs and rooftop bars to opera and concerts and everything in between. Visitors flock to see the star-studded theatre productions on Broadway or watch a Baseball Game at the Yankee Stadium, home of the New York Yankees.
The Big Apple hosts some must-see events throughout the year, including the St Patrick’s Day Parade, 4th July Fireworks, the New York Marathon and the Halloween Parade. If you’re visiting near the end of November, you might be lucky enough to catch Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade with its colourful floats and enormous balloons.
